We listen to youth says Najib Tun Razak

The younger generation  wants a government  that creates opportunities and jobs for them while listening to them through  social media, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib  Tun Razak  yesterday.

“That is exactly what we are doing today, based on the engagement I have been doing through the social media,” he said during a seven-minute interview with Al Jazeera World News 2013 segment on “What do you think of your leaders?”, hosted by Redi Tlabh.

Najib tun razak said politicians should adjust their style to engage with people, especially the younger generation.

He was lauded for his engagement on social media, especially Twitter, with more than a million followers, mainly youth.

Najib said youth supported the reforms undertaken by the government.

“Real change is taking place in Malaysia and our youth have confidence in these changes.

“The 2012 Youth Day celebration in Putrajaya was a show of support of the reforms, with more than two million youths taking part.”

Asked about 1Malaysia, he said: “The concept is about accepting diversity as a source of strength. If you can celebrate diversity as a source of strength, then you truly embrace the concept of Malaysia.”
